In Duo EP - now available

A very small quantity of Katie and Karin's tour EP In Duo are now available for purchase here.

This EP was produced especially for the April - June 2011 duo tour, and until now it has only been available to purchase at the live concerts. These EPs won't last long, and we won't be pressing them again, so get in quick to get your hands on this limited release. It is sure to become a collector's item!

New CD Fandango now available

ABC Classics have described it as "an album of extraordinary diversity, sensual delights and dazzling virtuosity." Karin's new CD with Flinders Quartet, Fandango, was recorded in the crystal-clear acoustic of the Salon at the Melbourne Recital Centre, and was released on the ABC Classics label in mid-May.

The centrepiece of the album is the famous Fandango Quintet by Boccherini - one of the most popular and instantly identifiable pieces in the chamber repertoire: "… a Fandango movement that bristles with vitality draw[s] extraordinary music from all players." (Patricia Kelly, Courier Mail)

Other works on the album are by the Argentinian guitarist Maximo Diego Pujol; a glorious quartet by Haydn; and a compelling new work from Karin's dear friend, wonderful Australian guitarist/composer Phillip Houghton.

Karin to tour with Katie Noonan in 2011

Katie and Karin will present an intimate selection of some of the most beautiful songs from the British Isles. From Dowland, Vaughan-Williams and Britten, to Nick Drake, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and traditional Celtic folk tunes. After years of crossing paths, these two leading female artists will finally share the stage to create a unique blend of ethereal vocals and lyrical guitar. Having toured with Flinders Quartet in 2010, Karin is thrilled to have been invited to perform as a part of Flinders' 2011 subscription concert series (in Melbourne and Sydney). SPAIN - Great Guitar Concertos (new CD)

The long-awaited release of Spain (ABC Classics) features Karin performing Rodrigo's masterpiece, as well as two exquisite rarities. Filled with the passion, beauty and fire of the Mediterranean soul, these magnificent Spanish guitar concertos provide an ideal vehicle for Karin's renowned intensity and flamboyance.

Recorded with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Northey, Karin's stunning interpretation of Rodrigo's immortal Concierto de Aranjuez is balanced by the sublime but hitherto rarely-performed Concertino in A minor by Salvador Bacarisse.

For Castelnuovo-Tedesco's equally ravishing Romancero Gitana, Karin is joined by Cantillation in a spell-binding combination of classical guitar with choir.

Lotte's Gift Soundtrack - Out Now

Karin's new CD, the soundtrack to the new David Williamson play, Lotte's Gift, a one woman show featuring Karin as narrator, actor and guitarist is now available. The CD features all the music from the play, with selected tracks from Karin's existing discography, as well as some new pieces recorded especially for this CD, including the much loved Adagio from Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. Lotte's Gift is available online and in stores now, and is available at all live performances of the play
