Karin is thrilled to announce the birth of her second child, Raphael, born March 27th, 2012.

2012 album release and national tour with Katie Noonan

Returning from a maternity break, Karin is once again teaming up with songstress Katie Noonan for a national tour, and the release of their first full-length duo album ‘Songs of the Southern Skies’. Exploring music close to home and close to their hearts, Katie and Karin’s new album (and live concerts) will feature some of Australia and New Zealand’s best classical, folk, jazz and pop songs - from the Finn Brothers, Cold Chisel, Nick Cave, Icehouse, Bic Runga, Gurrumul, The Easybeats, Vince Jones and Gotye, through to traditional folk songs and the works of Peter Sculthorpe, Elena Kats-Chernin, Richard Charlton and more.

‘Songs of the Southern Skies’ will be released in August with a national tour to follow in September and October 2012. Click here for tour dates.

Winner Announced
for Art Song Composition Competition

Earlier this year, Karin together with Katie Noonan announced an art song composition competition, giving young composers the opportunity to have their song performed by these two acclaimed musicians. The winning song will be recorded and released on the duo’s new CD and performed as part of the 2012 national tour.

With $2000 in prize money on offer, the standard of the entries received was impressive. The judges – Karin, Katie and some of their music industry colleagues – recently selected the winning entry: Bora Ring a haunting lament composed by South Australian Andrew Georg based on a poem by Judith Wright.
